The staterooms offers a unique glimpse of the way great houses have been furnished. The House is open daily, excluding Fridays, from 31st March until 28th October from 11am to 5pm and is also open for viewing with guides and stewards in each of the rooms to answer any questions which you or your guests may have. Burghley Gardens of Surprise, Lincolnshire This was recently opened and has two complementary gardens side by side. Although classically designed, the new historic Garden of Surprises is a modern garden. The house is open daily (except Fridays) from April to October from 11 am to 5pm. Lyveden New Bield and Garden, Northamptonshire Lyveden New Bield is a remarkable survival of the Elizabethan age and is one of England's oldest garden landscapes. Althorp, Northamptonshire There are nineteen rooms in the house and a display of one of Europe's finest private collections of furniture, pictures and ceramics. Althorp also has an exhibition of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. The collection on display consists of: the famous dresses that Diana wore on her engagements including her bridal gown, childhood letters and school reports and home made movies from the Spencer family collection. There is even a passport on display bearing the name of HRH The Princess of Wales! Every year at Althorp, they run events such as the Literary Fesitval, Sporting gun Show, Garden Show, Jazz Show, Christmas at Althorp. Belton House, Belton, Grantham, Lincolnshire, NG32 2LS Belton House is 17th Century country house which is currently owned by the National Trust with stunning interiors, beautiful gardens and fine furniture collections. This house was once a film location for the BBC's Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice and Tom Jones. Children and parents can dress up in Victorian Clothing and explore National Trust's largest adventure playground. There are two gardens, an Italian with Fountain and Dutch gardens. Although this place is not within the Nene Area, we thought we would include this magnificent castle. Only a 30 minute drive from Stamford or even less if you are driving from Bourne. The castle displays from military treasures to impressive period art, tapestries sculpture and furniture, the marble halls and grand State Rooms. There are also wonderful views of Vale of Belvoir from the hilltop with glorious gardens.
